Oban is a stunning place to visit and for the sea kayaker it has access to one of the most amazing sea kayaking venues in the world, the West Coast of Scotland. Flying up Thursday night – Edge trip leader John Logie, who was paddling and wild camping up here in the spring, assures the rest of us that after only 30 minutes kayaking we will be with seals and otters on the west side of the island of Kerrera. With plenty of sheltered water when its needed, we can advance onto its famous tideraces and overfalls ( Falls of Lora and the Gulf of Corrievreckan) if weather permits.
