THAMES TIDEFEST, MANY ACTIVITIES INCLUDING FREE KAYAK TASTER SESSIONS.

As part of the Annual TideFest event on Sunday 10th September 2017, we are providing Free Kayak Taster sessions between 12 pm and 6 pm, with qualified coaches. Each session will last about 45 minutes. No need to book, just turn up between 12 pm and 5 pm. Must be 12 years old or over. Plus a chance of winning membership of the Club, worth £96. Location: Kew Bridge Arches.
The TideFest event is centred around Kew Bridge and Strand-on-the-Green. There’s kayaking, paddleboarding, river dipping, guided foreshore walks, boat trips, an angling competition, nature reserve visits, artists displays, seine netting, live fish tanks, museum discounts, children’s games, stalls, music, refreshments and much more. TideFest itself starts at 10am, so please feel free to show up and try out the other activities but the kayaking starts at midday.

Club AGM – Wednesday 12th July

Club AGM – Wednesday 12th July. Intention is to cut that evenings club paddle short at 20:00 then meeting 20:30-21;30 in the arches or outside if sunny, we will even book some pizza’s in for those attending, bring your own beer!

Wednesday Evening Club Paddles are back!

This is open to all Edge club members (and £15 for any for friends/family that you would like to bring along) followed by pints after in a local tavern.

Please let us know via the “Edge, Progressive Paddling” Facebook Group if would like to attend (a “like” will not be counted as attending) and if you are bringing someone so that we can organise coaching accordingly.

Meeting at 6.30pm (prompt) at the arches in Kew Bridge and taking to the water.

 

 

Sea kayaking skills training – min 2 star

I will be running some sea kayaking skills training on Saturday 13th July @2pm

Venue will be confirmed nearer the time- but should hopefully be somewhere on the South Coast (TBC) start @2pm. You will need to sort out and fund your own transport for your boats and yourselves to the launch point. There should hopefully be enough cars within the group of participants, for those without own transport.

Participants should be minimum 2* standard.

Cost will be £20 per head.
