motivation: Sleeping on remote secret beaches, Seeing the UK’s coastline from a different angle, Use of the local Thames, Sliding down some BIG surf, Being able to help and encourage others to be able to enjoy what I already love to do.
kayaking dreams: To get to paddle some big tidal races!

Graham Bills

ROLE: Vice Chair, coach, development officer
PADDLING DISCIPLINE(S): sea kayaking, expeditions
LEVEL: L1 coach, 3 star sea kayaking
MOTIVATION: Sharing – beauty, challenges and camaraderie of expedition paddling with others. Not sharing – cold, wet paddling gear
KAYAKING DREAMS: sunrises and sunsets at the water’s edge

Annette

ROLE: coach, communications
PADDLING DISCIPLINE(S) : sea, surf, white water
LEVEL: L2 coach, 4 star sea trainee
MOTIVATION: adrenaline rushes, visit amazing remote places, use the Thames, make the most of the rain
KAYAKING DREAMS: run my own expedition in the Norwegian fjords with wild camping, rough swell and porpoises

Paul

ROLE: coach training and development
PADDLING DISCIPLINE(S): surf kayak, SUP, mucking about on weirs, whitewater river running (when there’s nothing better to do)
LEVEL: L3 coach, 4 star surf
MOTIVATION: having fun and spending time with very strange people
KAYAKING DREAMS: not really printable

Terry

ROLE: Club secretary, membership secretary stand-in
PADDLING DISCIPLINE(S): Sea, inland touring, long trips
LEVEL: 2 star general, aspirant 3 star sea kayaking and/or touring
MOTIVATION: enjoying the great outdoors – weather whatever, – coastal or river – anywhere ON the water, not IN it (unless I’m swimming!)
KAYAKING DREAMS: DW race, exploring beautiful coastlines in UK and other countries, connecting with nature on our inland waterways. Dry feet (and other regions)! To not panic at the thought of rolling in my kayak…..

Vicky

ROLE: coach, polo rep
PADDLING DISCIPLINE(S): white water, canoe polo
LEVEL: L1 coach, 3 star white water
MOTIVATION: adrenaline rushes, visit amazing remote places, staying fit and healthy whilst enjoying the great outdoors, making new friends
KAYAKING DREAMS: survive a paddle down the mighty Zambezi by day with crocs for company and by night sleep on the sandy river banks under a starry sky
