Kayak Surf Trip

Last weekend, was the best weekend of my life! Myself and a few other members of Edge travelled to Bude last weekend for a Kayak Surfing trip. The coaches had organised the trip to perfection. I received e-mails about the weather and wind conditions, emails about the accommodation and information on surf kayaking, phone calls notifying me when to meet at Brentford Boating Arch and when we would leave. Despite it being a five hour journey from Kew Bridge to our campsite in Cornwall, it didn’t feel like as long as 5 hours since I was with some of the friendliest people I know.

Late on Friday night we arrived at our caravan. It was easily big enough to sleep all of us in
huge comfort with all of the necessary equipment to enjoy ourselves in the accommodation.

The kayaks that Edge had on offer to take to Bude were brilliant as well. We had two surfing kayaks- designed for surfing and a few play boats- which are almost just as good at surfing as one’s which are primarily built without compromise for surfing. As the weather predicted the waves were BIG! We were surfing 5 foot waves or possibly even higher at times.

The coaches never missed a trick with the trip, not only was it great fun, but it was also very safe. We all looked out for each other and no one was ever surfing near any kind of rocks thanks to the fully aware coaches. Edge kept us all entertained at all times and didn’t let us
miss one minute worth of great waves.

As I said it was the best weekend of my life and I will always be going on more trips with
them. And I’m sure I will enjoy it just as much as the Surfing trip last weekend.

I would recommend the club to anyone and everyone and you will enjoy every minute of
your time paddling with them, whether it’s in pool sessions, a river session or any trip!

Thanks ever so much everyone and I’ll see you all on more trips and club sessions again very
soon.
